EYG EMPLOYEES ACHIEVE A 100% PASS RATE IN NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
HULL commercial glazing and home improvement specialist EYG is celebrating after more than 60 of its employees passed NVQ qualifications.
Staff at the company achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in the exams, with a total of 62 commercial fitters, factory operatives and transport and yard staff achieving the national certificate.
The qualifications are part of an on-going programme of improvement across the company aimed at ensuring quality is kept to the fore.
EYG is now looking to put its site-based employees through the NVQ Level three exam to continue its policy of up-skilling, as well as recruiting a number of new apprentices into the business.
Mike Hanson, director at the company, said the qualifications were a win-win for EYG and its staff.
He said: “Achieving these qualifications not only engenders our employees with a sense of personal achievement, it enables EYG to demonstrate a high level of competence to prospective clients.
“Our programme of continuous improvement starts with our staff and feeds through to the whole business so we’re all operating at best practice.
“Therefore we are very committed to developing our workforce. Investing in our people encourages a motivated and stable workforce and in turn we benefit from having the highest qualified staff possible, which means our customers get the highest possible quality.”
Mr Hanson added he was very proud of the staff.
He said: “They’ve done fantastically well and we are really proud to achieve a 100 per cent pass rate. But we have a very loyal and committed workforce so it wasn’t entirely a surprise that all of them sailed through with flying colours.”
EYG employee Tony Jenkyns said he was thrilled to gained the qualification and added it had inspired him to take further courses in the future.
He said: “It certainly boosts your confidence, achieving good qualifications, and it is great to work for a company that encourages personal development.”
