EYG LANDS £1.7M STUDENT ACCOMMODATION CONTRACT
EYG recently won a £1.7m contract to fit windows, doors and curtain walling to a new student accommodation development in Liverpool.
The company was appointed by Manchester-based university sector specialist Ocon Construction Ltd, who are building the development on Chatham Street on the edge of the University of Liverpool Campus.
The development - called Vine Court Residences - was commissioned by the university and consists of 710 student accommodation units along with a 250-seater restaurant, cafe and retail units.
EYG will install 722 Schuco windows, as well as doors and curtain walling, and are forecasting completion by early 2012.
Nick Ward, joint managing director of the EYG group, said student accommodation projects such as this were a becoming a “mainstay” of EYG’s commercial work.
He said: “We are building a strong reputation in the student accommodation sector because of the quality of work we bring to projects such as these.
“Our clients know they can rely on us to get the job done on budget and, more importantly on time. This is crucial when working on student accommodation to ensure the building is completed for this year’s student intake.”
Mr Ward added Vine Court Residences was the latest in a string of projects EYG had been awarded by Ocon Construction Ltd.
Others include work to fit windows, doors and curtain walling to a student accommodation complex at the University of Sussex and similar contracts in Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham and Loughborough.
“We have had an ongoing relationship with Ocon Construction Ltd now for several years and it is an excellent company to work with,” Mr Ward said.
