EYG Commercial proves top of the class with summer installations of hundreds of new windows and doors at seven Yorkshire schools

2nd October 2025

EYG Commercial’s manufacturing and installation teams proved to be top of the class over the summer holidays as hundreds of new windows and doors were fitted in schools across Yorkshire ready for the new term.

Whilst the six-week holiday period can see a slow down in activity for many businesses, for EYG it now traditionally brings a number of contracts in the education sector, with classrooms empty and ideal for quick turnaround installations.

This summer was no different, with seven contracts totalling well in excess of £500,000 of orders.

EYG’s teams passed the test with flying colours, installing aluminium and UPVC windows, entrance screens and doors.

“It was another very busy summer for us with our contracts in the education sector,” said sales and estimating director Richard Saunders.

“Over the past few years our work in schools has continued to grow, and obviously the holiday periods are the ideal time for our teams to be on site.

“As a business we have to plan for the summer holiday demand well in advance, from scheduling our manufacturing on site in June and July, to then having the fitting teams ready to install throughout August.

“This year we worked on seven different school sites, working for a number of contractors, and I’m pleased to say all jobs went smoothly, ensuring works were complete ready for staff and pupils to return to class in improved, upgraded facilities.”

Projects at Hornsea, Hull, York, Harrogate and Sheffield schools

Projects in East Yorkshire included work at Burton Agnes School, Hornsea School and Hymers College.

In South Yorkshire, contacts were completed at both Halfway Junior School and Mossbrook School in Sheffield, whilst in North Yorkshire, pupils and staff at Westfield Primary School in York and Harrogate Grammar School have returned to new and improved facilities this term.

“We’ve stripped out hundreds of old windows, the majority of which were old steel windows which have very poor levels of performance in terms of energy and heat retention,” said Mr Saunders.

“They have now been replaced with leading systems from our suppliers including Senior PURe aluminium windows and doors and Eurocell UPVC windows, including products which offer the very best levels of thermal performance and long-life cycles.

“It’s really pleasing to see our reputation continue to grow in the education sector, and credit goes to our teams again from in the factory where products are manufactured, to our installation teams for rising to the challenge of completing jobs to the highest of standards in what is always a tight timeframe given we are talking about a number of sites, and the installation of hundreds of windows and doors.”
