EYG Commercial was delighted to be contracted to manufacture a large glazed entrance for a new Boxpark food and leisure venue which recently opened its doors in Liverpool.
Based in the Cains Brewery Village in the south of Liverpool city, the new venue spans 21,000 sq ft, with a 5,500 sq ft external terrace for al fresco dining and intimate events.
It is the first Boxpark venue to open outside of London, adding to facilities which opened in Shoreditch in 2011, Croydon in 2016, and then in Wembley in 2018.
Curtain walling manufactured at Hull factory
EYG Commercial was contracted for the glazing aspect of the new Liverpool development by Huddersfield-based Interiors UK, which fitted out the new facility.
It saw a 17m x6m curtain walling screen supplied, which forms the entrance of the new venue, manufactured in the firm’s factory in Hull, alongside a number of doors. The products were delivered to site and fitted last month.
Richard Saunders, sales and estimating director at EYG Commercial, said it had been a good project to be involved in.
“It’s always nice to be contracted to work on a job which is going to have a big impact when completed, and that is certainly the case with this new Boxpark in Liverpool, which there is a buzz of excitement around,” he said.
“We were delighted to be selected, especially given there have already been a number of these venues opened in London.
“To be selected to supply the glazing for the first of the venues in the north is something we are proud of, given the competition in the market, and we’ve had positive feedback from the client, which is always the priority.
“It’s a great concept and, hopefully, should there be more opening in the future, we have demonstrated our abilities with the work we have completed on this project, and may be able to work on future projects.”
Concept aims to support local food traders and restaurants
Boxpark venues offer a wide selection of street food options from all over the world, through a mix of small, independent street food traders and the host city’s favourite restaurants.
The concept aims to provide a venue which gives traders a platform to expand their businesses whilst enhancing a city’s food and drink offering. Each Boxpark venue boasts multiple bars serving a huge range of beers, wines, spirits and creative cocktails.
A full events programme for Boxpark Liverpool has been confirmed for 2024, following the festival style launch weekend.
