Strong Performance at Driffield School Earns EYG New Contract

7th October 2026

EYG has completed a major window and door replacement project at Driffield School ahead of programme, earning praise from staff and helping to secure further work within the education sector.

Acting as principal contractor, EYG installed 81 Eurocell Logic uPVC windows and 10 Senior Architectural Systems SPD150 aluminium doors to the school’s West Building, with work spanning three elevations.

The installation began on 29 June, with the project deadline set at the 28 August. All installation works were completed by 4 August, with handover achieved on 14 August, 10 days ahead of programme.

The south-facing elevation was also specified with solar control glass, helping to reduce excessive solar gain and improve comfort within the building.

A key challenge was carrying out the first three weeks of the installation while the school remained fully operational. Teachers and pupils had to be move and coordinated around the installation programme, requiring close communication between EYG and the school’s estates team to minimise disruption to pupils and staff.

The established relationship between the two teams proved particularly valuable, with EYG having previously completed a number of projects directly for the school as well as a major scheme for Hobson Porter.

Rich McNeil, Operations Manager at EYG, said: “Because the school remained operational during the first few weeks, careful planning and communication were essential. We worked closely with the estates team to coordinate the classrooms around the installation programme, and that existing relationship really helped the project run smoothly.

“The feedback from both teachers and the estates team was extremely positive, particularly around the professionalism and organisation of our installation teams. To complete the entire project defect-free and ahead of programme was a great result.”

The installation was carried out by Aaron Crowley, Miles Anderson, Paul Palmer and Andy Browne, whose work on the project saw the team recognised internally with EYG’s Employee of the Month award.

Rich added: “The team did a fantastic job throughout. Finishing ahead of programme is one thing, but doing so while maintaining the quality of the installation and handing over a defect-free project is something they can be particularly proud of.”

The successful delivery at Driffield has already led to further work, with EYG appointed on another window and door replacement scheme at Beverley Minster Primary School.

Despite the project being awarded relatively late, EYG has been able to schedule the uPVC window installation during the school summer break, with the aluminium door installation to follow during the October half term.

The latest appointment continues EYG’s work across educational buildings and strengthens its relationship with schools across the region.
